About Me

Eric LaBelle - Man With Beard Who Loves the Smell of Timber & Hot Steel

I like working with my hands. Always have.

Being raised by tradesmen and women, I spent my childhood on job sites and in workshops & warehouses, completely immersed in the trades lifestyle. Some of my earliest memories are with my grandfather, getting to push the buttons on the machinery and sitting on his lap, steering the forklift and working the levers (all OSHA-approved activities in the late-80s). Around 12 years old I was grinding & welding with my boilermaker father, and was encouraged to swing a hammer to help my mom & stepdad build our house.

Nature vs Nurture, some say - for me, it was a hefty dose of both.

I’ve spent time in many trades over the years - custom cabinetry, countertops, door installations, carpentry, painting, tiling, general handyman services...I’ve done a lot. And it’s led me to some pretty cool places - I’ve had the opportunity to build a handful of custom bars for a brewery, a distillery, and a winery (checking off all the booze boxes).

While I have enjoyed my years working in the trades, my creative desires have been left in the shadows. But no longer, my friends. Ram Fire Forge and Woodcraft is where that narrative changes.

I started this business to take all of my skills and knowledge and put them into work I am truly passionate about. You can count on quality craftsmanship and items built with integrity. My love for the craft fueled me to create something that I hope you enjoy, and that will suit who you are and your lifestyle as well.

This is a glimpse into life inside my shop, with small doses of my world outside these 4 walls (I’m also a hobbyist photographer, windsurfer, cat-dad, and married to an artist & crazy plant lady who has supported every one of my ambitions along this journey.)

Thanks for reading my backstory & I hope you maybe found it even mildly entertaining. While you’re here, please feel free to peruse my wares, drop me a note, or pop back in to see what antics I’ll get into next.

-Eric
